1 RADICAL? Becoming Radical

2 “Our lives could become everything that this world wants them to be
“Our lives could become everything that this world wants them to be. So tolerant that they speak no truth. So comfortable that they evade their call. So religious that they cannot love. So powerless that they have no effect on this world.”

3 “Radical. A life tending to produce extreme or fundamental changes in political, economic or social conditions within institutions, habits of mind or society.”

4 How do you become radical?

5 Hebrews 11:1-6 Faith, Abel and Enoch 11 Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. 2 This is what the ancients were commended for. 3 By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible. 4 By faith Abel brought God a better offering than Cain did. By faith he was commended as righteous, when God spoke well of his offerings. And by faith Abel still speaks, even though he is dead. 5 By faith Enoch was taken from this life, so that he did not experience death: “He could not be found, because God had taken him away.”[a] For before he was taken, he was commended as one who pleased God. 6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

6 Abel brought a better offering

7 The Widow’s Offering (Mark 12:41-43) 41 Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts. 42 But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a few cents. 43 Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others.

14 (Hebrews 11:5b-6a, New Living Translation) [Enoch] was known as a person who pleased God. 6 And it is impossible to please God without faith.

same place by the same path at the same pace

18 So where is our life walking to?
You’re a new creation, act like it!

19 What path are we taking to that place?

20 Are we walking with God or on our own?
