Generally based on a system created in the USA by the FAA (FAR) and adopted in Europe by the JAA (JAR) now under EASA Certification Specifications (CS).
Aircraft, Engines, Propellers & TSO/ETSO Equipment.
Meeting the ICAO standard for Airworthiness.

- Regulators take responsibility for verifying compliance & retain liability.
Organisation
- Organisations take responsibility for verifying compliance & retain some liability.
Individuals
- Appointed by Regulators, provide Regulator with compliance statements, Regulator takes most of the liability

7. THE EU US AGREEMENT on The BASA EU-US was signed on 30 June 2008
