Goal: Encourage politicians and the people who vote for them to wonder whether greenhouse warming theory is correct Did you know that it has never been shown experimentally that increasing concentrations of greenhouse gases actually cause air to warm? The only experiment documented in the scientific literature was by physicist Knut Ångström in 1900, and he showed the warming effect to be minimal. This is embarrassing. What if we spend trillions of dollars reducing greenhouse gases and have no effect on global temperatures? Shouldn’t we do a simple experiment first?

Dr. Peter L. Ward is offering to pay $10,000 to the first scientist who can show experimentally that greenhouse gases were the primary reason for global warming observed from 1970 to 1998. WhyClimateChanges.com/challenge/

Goal: Encourage politicians and the people who vote for them to wonder whether greenhouse warming theory is correct Climate models predict that you will get hotter standing in moonlight rather then standing in sunlight. Is that your experience? Climate models assume that the thermal energy in radiation is the same at every frequency. But ultraviolet radiation burns your skin and fades your lawn furniture. Infrared radiation absorbed by greenhouse gases does not even have enough energy to penetrate glass and it can never burn your skin.

Goal: Encourage politicians and the people who vote for them to wonder whether greenhouse warming theory is correct Climate models predict that layers of air heated by greenhouse gases warm Earth. Layers of air are colder than Earth. Do you get warm standing next to a cold stove? Detailed records of climate change in layers of ice in Greenland show that at least 25 times in the past 110,000 years, the world warmed suddenly out of ice-age conditions within years and then cooled slowly over centuries to millennia back into ice-age conditions. How can greenhouse gases explain these very clear observations?

Be courteous and appreciative of the hard work by all
Always remember that they all are at least as passionate as you about their own work Do not attribute motives to others Suggest problems with ideas but never with people Be cool, calm, and collected but display your passion to do what is best for humankind Do not be dogmatic. Be willing to discuss. “Oh that is an interesting idea, but ….” I blame the problems with models on Maxwell’s assumption in the 1860s that light travels as waves through air and space. He is dead and cannot complain, but he is also widely revered by most physicists who will defend him endlessly. That argument is then on physics, not on a particular living person. The physics argument can be won, but physicists will defend it with as much vigor as climate scientists will defend CO2. Be positive and upbeat.
