Coolant System Design QSB6.7
5
Scope Tier 4 Final (AEB24.60, 24.61, 24.62) SCR Components requiring coolant Dosing Module (DM) DEF Tank
6
Tools Two Flow Measuring Devices accurate for the +/-5% over the targeted flow range. Pressure Sensor + Restriction Curves OR Flow Meters Calterm (or voltage source to actuate coolant valve) Data logger for temperature and flow/pressure
7
Test Setup
8
Test Conditions Speed: Highest normal operating speed, up to 2100RPM
Engine Conditions: If your machine will incorporate a TK by-pass, ensure that you are testing with the this component enabled. All OEM accessories using engine coolant should be flowing coolant when performing this test.
9
Pass/Fail Criteria *Max done with thermostat closed
*Min done with thermostat open
10
Data Capture
11
Things to note If your machine will incorporate a TK by-pass, ensure that you are testing with the this component enabled. All OEM accessories using engine coolant should be flowing coolant when performing this test.
12
Example – QSB6.7 Power Unit
Line lengths are shorter than Cummins Pre-engineered system Test setup for this installation
13
Opening Coolant Valve Test Condition
Use Calterm Parameter Overrides O_UTC_TankHeater1_Enbl = 1, Reset to 0 after test O_UTC_TankHeater1_Val = 100 %, Reset to 0 after test OR apply the appropriate voltage to valve to actuate it (12V or 24V)
14
Conclusion Data collection Pass/Fail Flow rates for: 2 Conditions
DM Engine Supply DEF Tank Header 2 Conditions Open Thermostat Closed Thermostat Pass/Fail Compare data to that found in the AEB Re-design as necessary
