What’s going to happen All existing tenants within Australia will be moved. Customers outside the service area will not be moved. There is no change to functionality or user interface. Only a change in data location. Microsoft is working hard to make this move easy. They will provide transparency on TechNet and predictability with details in the Message Center. There’s nothing you have to do, MS will take care of it. - will continue to work during the move. - SharePoint will be read-only for between a few minutes and a few hours outside normal working hours. - Lync will continue to work. 5. MS cannot change your move date. Customers are grouped in batches of thousands and cannot be separated. 6. More details and FAQ at

Options if you need them
Microsoft Office365 9/18/2018 Do nothing, be migrated with Microsoft move program There’s nothing to do, MS will take care of it. will continue to work during the move. SharePoint will be read-only for between a few minutes and a few hours outside normal working hours. MS cannot change your move date. 1 Recommended Option Apply for the early adopter program to be moved early Runs March through August 2015. Customers on the beta are fully supported but don’t necessarily get 6 weeks notice of their move. We need to choose certain beta customers that meet certain attributes. Not all customers will be eligible. 2 You can request to not be moved and to stay in the Asia Pacific region Your data will stay in Singapore and Hong Kong. Request via Support more than 4 weeks before their scheduled move. We can not move customers later who ask not to be moved. 3 © 2012 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved. Cut-over details Service Features that work during cut-over
Features that are unavailable during cut-over Exchange Online access: users can read and send delivery Free busy notification Outlook can be used to send and receive messages. Users will not have to stop and restart Outlook. Mailbox and calendar delegation: While the delegate is temporarily in a different datacenter region than the delegator, users won't be able to set up delegation or access the delegator's mailbox. eDiscovery: eDiscovery can only act on users in one datacenter region. Unified Messaging prompts: Customized prompts are stored in a system mailbox, and if the system mailbox is temporarily in a different datacenter region than the user, anyone calling the user will hear the default prompts, instead of the user's customized messages, Outlook Address Book: The offline address book typically synchronizes every 24 hours. It may take longer to refresh. Public folders: If the public folder is temporarily in a different datacenter region than the person trying to access it, they won't be able to access it. Exchange Online Protection(EOP) All If there is a problem with connectivity, the EOP part of the move will be delayed, and you'll see a message in the Office 365 message center to update your network configuration. For information on testing connectivity in advance, see Before your datacenter move. SharePoint Online OneDrive for Business Project Online Office 365 Video services Office Online All sites and documents are available read-only. No changes can be made to sites during the cut-over. Documents can't be updated and saved online. You'll need to save locally and post online after cut-over. If you try to update or save a document online during the cut-over, you'll see an error message stating We apologize for the inconvenience, but we've made OneDrive and Sites read-only while we do some maintenance. Lync Online Online meetings Free busy presence information Recently added contacts and meetings are not available during the cut-over. They become available again as soon as the cut-over is complete.
