In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Jesus, my Savior, help me share your love with others.
Remember our parish intentions for this month:
Let’s take a moment to feel calm and quietly at peace. Let’s pray together and ask God to help us learn about what he makes.
Close your eyes and fold your hands.

3. Opening prayer
Let’s pray for our own intentions for those who are ill or have died or are in need of special prayers and for things for which we are grateful.
Children and catechists are invited to speak their intentions.
We thank you God for this opportunity to be together. We ask the Holy Spirit to guide us as we listen to today’s lesson.

Using page 208, introduce the proper way to receive Communion and let the children practice the proper way to hold their hands.

One catechist takes children for bathroom break or drink of water. Second catechist sets up centers for next part of lesson.

Vocabulary cards: Reinforce vocabulary words.
Center 2: Jesus in the Holy Eucharist Craft
Print out host template. Cut out and fold host so that it opens like a door with the picture of Jesus inside. Print out template of chalice. Cut out template. Fold a yellow piece of construction paper in half and put the flat side of the chalice template on the folded edge. Trace around template and cut out. When you open it you will have a complete chalice. Be sure to draw in the top part of the chalice. Glue chalice to your background paper and let your child decorate it with crayons, markers, glitter, plastic jewels, sequins, etc.
