2. Rules for Group Project
Get into groups of 2-5 people
Pick a topic presented on the Powerpoint
One or two people in the group use their phone to research the topic
One person writes down what you have discovered and what you have discussed
Your discussions should include what do you think it was like to be alive in that time and how you relate to people or events in that time.

3. Project 1: Romantic Era (Pick only one)
1. Pick 2 Authors from the Text book: Research their life, Pick a famous story that they wrote and be prepared to share with the class a summary of that story in your own words.
2. Pick 1 Inventor From the Text Book: Research their life, and talk about their inventions. How did their inventions help to further our society into what it is today?
3. Pick 1 Composer From the Text Book: Research their Life, Listen to 2 minutes of different compositions by the composer and as a group decide which is your favorite.

4. Project 2: Listening to The Elf King
As a group choose one of the elements of music listed that help describe the story of the song The Elf King. Use vocabulary words as much as possible.
Rhythm: Talk about the tempo. Is it fast or slow? Does it stay steady throughout or does it change? You have permission to tap your foot or conduct.
Tone Color: Tell how the instruments used demonstrate the different characters.
Dynamics: How does the loudness or softness further the story or tell you about the characters?
Pitch: How does the highness or lowness of the notes tell you who each character is and what they are doing?
