5. Peoria Police Department Body Worn Camera Program
In December 2014, the Peoria Police Department implemented its pilot Body Worn Camera Program.
After careful consideration, assignments of BWCs were divided among three sections within the agency.

Forty-two (42) assigned to patrol officers among all three shifts.
Ten (10) assigned to the Traffic Services Section which accounts for 100% deployment.
Two (2) to patrol assigned canine officers.
Costs
$18,000 cameras/hardware
$16,000 storage

Seventy-five (75) additional cameras were assigned.
