MobileCare Intro and T1 Troubleshooting

2 Vital Note At the time of installation, do not turn on the device until you are ready to engage and demo for the user. The reason for this is that the device goes through a series of start up events and audio prompts that the user needs to hear. This series of events happens only once so you want to be sure you are with the user. This means, the device can NOT be bench tested prior to delivery to the user.

3 Terminology Term Definition MobileCare

4 The Device Call Button Used to activate the alarm Speaker
For the audio recordings and operator voice. It has a different texture for the visually impaired. Signal Strength Indicator Transparent Lens (“Light Pipe”) Contains two LEDs (red and green) Battery Strength Indicator (RGB LEDs) There are four Red-Green-Blue (RGB) LEDs. 5 Out-of-the-Box Setup Issues Step-by-Step
Plug the power cord into the docking station and the wall Place device in the docking station Device starts the “startup” sequence User hears audio Welcome. Audible: (Scripting similar to this) “We are activating your personal mobile responder. We will notify you when activation is complete” May play several times for about 1-3 minutes. “Activation is now complete. We are resetting your personal responder so it is ready for use. One moment please.” Device searches for cellular connection Firmware update automatically while user listens to audio User sees the RGB lights flashing (specific colors at specific stages) Unit starts beeping User is prompted to activate the alert button Audible: It’s time to meet your response team. Please press and hold the call button to connect to your response team now.” User presses button CC answers and does their Welcome CC asks user: to leave device on charger for at least 4 hours Charge device every night Device plays a recording if no cell connection established. Set up cannot be completed until a connection is established.

7 Visual: Battery strength indicator will light
Low Battery Loss Visual progression: Battery Status Indicator flashes GREEN every 10 seconds. Battery Status Indicator turns AMBER (29-10%) Battery Status Indicator turns RED (Less than 10%) Audible: AMBER: “Charge your personal mobile responder soon” RED: “Charge your personal mobile responder now. Please place your personal mobile responder in the charger now.” Reacquire Visual: Battery strength indicator will light Audible: a tune indicating “charger connected” Scenario: Low Battery Note When docked the RGB LEDs will be continuously illuminated. When undocked, the status will be indicated by a “HeartBeat.”

8 Weak or No Cellular Coverage
Loss Audible: Audible: “No cellular coverage. Responder cannot contact response team until coverage is re-established” Visual Indicator: Indicator displays GREEN = 3-5 bars Indicator displays AMBER = 1-2 bars Indicator displays RED = 0 bars Reestablished Audible: “Cellular coverage reestablished. Your personal mobile responder can now contact your response team.” Visual: Signal Strength Indicator LED displays (solid or flashing) Solid in the charger Flashing off the charger Scenario: User goes to or experiences an area where the device has weak or no cellular coverage. The device will give both visual and audible indicators. Note When docked the Transparent Lens will be continuously illuminated. When undocked, the status will be indicated by a “HeartBeat.” Tech Support: View section 6.3 of the Libris Human Interface Document

9 Power Off and Power On Power Off Power On
Press, Press and Hold Call Button for 7 seconds User will be prompted to press the button one more time to turn it off Transparent Lens illuminated w/ correct color “Depature” Tune plays Cell signal indicator turns off Call button RGB light (battery indicator) turned off Power On Press, Press and hold Call Button for 3 seconds Call button RGB light (battery indicator) will display “Rainbow” Welcome Tune plays After 30 seconds if not in the charger, the “HeartBeat” will begin If in charger, lights will display solid

10 “Wake” the Device Wake Purpose is to allow user to check the current charge status and signal strength User holds device in hand User quickly moves device downward towards device Transparent Lens displays current signal strength color for 5 seconds RGB LEDs displays battery status for 5 seconds

11 Data Transmission During Daily Activity
Sensor Data is constantly being collected and stored on device. Location Data is being collected every hour and stored on device Transmission of Data to Website Data is only transmitted to the website during the following activities: Place device on charger - Stored location and sensor data is transmitted to website. Button Activation – Stored location and sensor data is transmitted to website. Sensor data transmission is constant during the active call. After the call ends the data goes back to it’s usual mode on or off the charger.

Device Process Device Sensor Data: Sensor data is transmitted by device to the Numera platform (website) Platform analyzes data and instructs device to establish emergency call to CC. Audible: “Calling your response team now. “ Single (may repeat if difficulty getting signal out) Visual: Pulsing blue RGB light Call Setup Device calls CC Is transmitting GPS cords battery status. Starts continuous sensor data transmission to platform Care Center (Notice to Monitor) Access MAP See Type Category See orientation of device See strip chart of sensor data Scenario: User activates device call button.

13 Fall Detected Device Process Device Sensor Data: Audible: Visual:
Sensor data is transmitted by device to the Numera platform. Platform analyzes data and instructs device to establish emergency call to CC. Audible: “A fall is detected. Calling your response team now. Please hold the device and position the microphone near your mouth to complete your call ” Some devices may have cancellation instructions Single (may repeat if difficulty getting signal out) Visual: pulsing blue RGB light Call Setup Device calls CC. Is transmitting GPS cords battery status. Starts continuous sensor data transmission to platform Care Center (Notice to Monitor) Access MAP See Type Category of “Fall” See orientation of device See strip chart of sensor data Scenario: User experiences a free fall.

14 The user pressed the button to contact the CC.
What happens when device call button is pressed while user is still on an active call with the CC? Steps The user pressed the button to contact the CC. During the process of the call, the user presses the button again. Because a call is already in progress the device will not disconnect the call and initiate another.
