International Equipment Reliability Working Group AP-913 Harmonisation sub-group Update from Prague meeting 4th-5th Apr 2017

Objective “Produce a harmonised (WANO) Equipment Reliability standard to be used globally outside of North America”

Achievements so far Survey of IERWG members re: what changes would we like in our WANO standard versus AP-913. Key themes are: Simpler and shorter than AP-913 More generic e.g. remove Maintenance Rule/MPSI. Include roles & responsibilities of each function and the interactions. Agreed and expanded sub-group – now have input from 11 member states (UK, Spain, China, Czech Republic, Slovenia, Finland, Bulgaria, Sweden, France, UAE and Korea) and WANO London Centre (see slide 4) Document Draft 3 now in production. Final set of comments on Draft 2 agreed with all sub-group members.

Next steps Apr 17– May 17: Produce Draft 3 based on comments on Draft 2 agreed at Prague meeting. Kris Thomson, Alan Wattling, EDF-Energy Apr 17– May 17: Check for conflicts with new draft Component Classification document (via Graham Norman). Jun-Jul 17: Receive comments on Draft 3 from I-ERWG members. Aug 17: Address Draft 3 comments and issue document to I-ERWG for voting. Sep 17: Confirm vote result at Shanghai meeting and address any outstanding/new comments. Oct-Nov 17: Issue document on Nuclear Community site. Oct-Nov 17: Submit document for WANO Centre review and consideration for a new WANO GL.
