Law of Moses. Gal 3:24 Therefore the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith. (NKJVS) (cf. Gal 4:1-5 Now I say that the heir, as long as he is a child, does not differ at all from a slave, though he is master of all, but is under guardians and stewards until the time appointed by the father. Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world. But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons. (NKJVS) d. Timing important to any major event Timing crucial to the birth of the Savior 2. After events had taken shape. a. After Jews proved could not save self by works of law. b. After Pagans proved could not save self by wisdom. c. After Greek became universal language. d. After Romans provided political and logistical climate for spread of gospel. JESUS WAS BORN IN THE “FULLNESS OF TIME”

III. Jesus Was Born to Save. (Matt. 1:21). A. Saves from sin. 1. Not temporal consequences: poverty, suffering, sickness and injustice, etc. 2. But guilt and eternal consequences. JESUS WAS BORN TO SAVE!

B. Saves conditionally. (Mark 16:15,16; Heb. 5:8,9). Heb 5:8-9 though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered. And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him, (NKJVS) 1. Else universal salvation. 2. Or arbitrary salvation. (cf. Acts 10:34,35). Act 10:34-35 Then Peter opened his mouth and said:" In truth I perceive that God shows no partiality. But in every nation whoever fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him. (NKJVS) JESUS WAS BORN TO SAVE!

C. Saves all kinds of people. 1. Crucifiers. (Acts 2:36-38,41,47) 2. Sorcerers. (Acts 8:13ff) 3. Persecutors. (Acts 9) 4. Pagan Jailers. (Acts 16:25-34). 5. Moral men. (Acts 10:) 6. Immoral men. (1 Cor. 6:9-11). JESUS WAS BORN TO SAVE!

10 The Birth of Jesus Luke 2.1-7 Conclusion:
A. Jesus born of virgin, in fullness of time, to save sinners like us. B. Jesus born to be your savior and king, why not let him be? (cf. Matt. 28:18-20).
