4 Our Contribution Pipeline Software User-driven application development
Collect user requirements/ feedback Design, develop & maintain product User-driven application development Software is continuously evolving with input from internal users and external collaborators Collaborators have access to LONI resources Hands-on user training sessions

5 Our Contribution (contd...)
Pipeline Application Front end to LONI Grid (600 processors) Dissemination SIG meetings (every two weeks) Hands on user training sessions Documentation/ Wiki/ Manuals

6 NAMIC-specific Participation
Pipeline Application Allow for extensible data model Provide robust interface to LONI Grid Hands on user training sessions UNC Collaboration Shape analysis pipelines NAMIC Kit Interoperability Slicer 3 integration SCIRun integration

7 Pipeline v4 Progress Revamped version 4 Client-Server architecture
- Flexible, extensible data model - Modular redesign - Powerful threading model - Minimal Synchronization - Elegant/ easy to use user interface - Redesigned XML Client-Server architecture - Highly scalable (> 1000 inputs) Any DRMAA grid with: - LONI’s Cerebro: Sun Xeon Grid Sun Microsystems is collaborating with LONI in Grid development to support the Pipeline

8 SLIPIE Progress Pipeline v4 batch mode In Progress
- Can execute complete (data-bound) workflows using command line (“-e” option) - Slicer can query Pipeline for list of required parameters - List of parameters expressed in readable XML - Allows for binding parameters on the command line - Batch mode tied to local execution In Progress - Getting list of all parameters - Providing user feedback on progress (status messages)

9 Future Plans Release a robust version NAMIC Kit
Successful integration with Slicer 3/ SCIRun Provide NAMIC with access to computational resources through Pipeline Build useful workflows with NAMIC collaborators Documention/ Manuals/ Wiki Hands on user training sessions
