2 Plot Summary (Section 1)
The story begins with a boy named Christopher Boone who finds a dead dog and gets in trouble with the police because he doesn’t like many things that normal people wouldn’t mind of: like when the cops grabbed him, he punched him. His father gets him out of the station, but he still isn’t satisfied because he wants to find the one who killed Wellington (the dog) which becomes his biggest mission. He does his detective but hides the fact from his father since his father wants him to stay away of that story. He has no one else who can support him since his mother had died of cancer and he doesn’t like strangers.

3 Plot Summary (Section 2)
After many investigations, he has no evidence or witness or any suspect besides Mr. Shears who he really doesn’t have a valid argument to mark him as a suspect. During the investigation, he also writes a book and when his father finds out, they get into a serious argument and the uncompleted book of Christopher is confiscated. When Christopher tries to find his book from his father’s room, he finds numerous letters written from his mother after the supposedly her death.

4 Plot Summary (Section 3)
Christopher is curious about his father lying to him and finds out that his mother is not dead but ran away with Roger Shears (Mr. Shears), but for everyone’s good. He knows that his mother still loves him. Sooner, he finds out that his father is the one who killed Wellington. Christopher decides to run away.

5 Plot Summary (section 4)
After a long and terrifying journey, he gets to London, to his mother’s house. Mr. Shears isn’t happy and is not ready to accept Christopher. One night, Mr. Shears gets drunk and almost harm Christopher which causes Christopher’s mother to run away back to Swindon. Christopher is happy because he gets to do his level A math.

6 Plot Summary (Section 5)
Christopher’s father apologizes and tells him that he will change for good and never lie ever again and it still doesn’t satisfies Christopher. His father does not give up and tries more which starts to get Christopher back with his father. The ending of the story lets us know that time heals many things and with time, Christopher will get back with his father or maybe with time his mother might get back with them as well since she left Roger.

7 Detailed Character Sketch: Chris
jHis narration is in first person and in third person. He explains events that are happening and he talks about his thoughts , his emotions and his point of view. Chris is obedient , he is very smart and he is aware of his problem. He isn't shy and he is willing to change. He is logical. His behaviour changes a lot , it depends on the environment and on what's happening .

8 Secondary Characters The three characters are ; Mrs. Boone, Mr. Boone, Siobhan Mrs. Boone is Christopher’s mother. She lives with Mr. Shears after getting a divorce with Mr. Boone. She is very hot tempered.” I’m not like your father. Your father is a much more patient person.” (p.106) His mother’s importance in this book is when Christopher finds out all the mail his mom sent him, the book becomes much more interesting. It makes the dad confess that he killed the dog. She is also very caring, because when Christopher arrives at her house, she starts to take care of him and stop caring about Mr. Shears Mr. Boone is Christopher’s father. Christopher lives with his dad. He is a very patient person and honest. In this quote, no matter how much Christopher bother’s his dad, he always keeps his patients and just says “ I said leave it, for God’s sake” (p21), His dad is the reason for Chirstopher finding his mother in the first place, because of their dispute.

9 Secondary Characters Siobhan is Christopher’s teacher. She is very nice and helpful. She helps Christopher in his everyday struggle. She is a very important character because during the whole novel, we can see how he stays relax in the metro. As we can see from the chapters that he is in the metro “ Left, right… which Siobhan taught me to do to make my self calm.”

10 Setting The Curious incident of the dog in the night-time takes place on the train. Christopher tries to hide from the police, because he doesn't want to go back to his father because he killed Wellington .The time is during the day when his father was out of the house to go to work. Christopher just got out of the house and went to Mrs. Alexander’s place so he could bring Toby to live with her before going to the train station. On the way to the train station, he decided whether he should stay in school just to rest, but his father was there so he went directly to the train station by asking a lady stranger for some directions. Based on the character, Christopher’s behaviour among the settings if changed, it will make no difference unless the place he’s in is alone whether it’s London, Beaconsfield, shopping center anywhere where there are people he will still have the same behaviour and personality towards other human beings that he’s not familiar with. Maybe if the setting was much more familiar to him like when he’s home, it will make a small difference to his behaviour besides different unknown places.

11 5 Topic And Theme Parents ,love and relationship .
Both his parents love him. His parents have trouble to express there love to him because of his condition. But they still manage to find ways to show there love. The killed dog and detective story as a theme. He tries to find the killer because he wants justice. He likes dogs and thinks that its not right for someone to this to a animal. A-level math and autism ,language and communication. Even if he has problems he is really smart. He sometimes has problem communicating but finds ways to express his ways.

12 Symbol (Map) Map: This symbol of all the map he has drawn means the estimated or analysed picture that he has pictured in his head when he’s at an unknown or familiar place. The map symbolizes the way he thinks or understands things. The Map also symbolizes his knowledge when he sees things and tries to analyse them by turning a location into a map because he finds it easier and simpler for him. The map also symbolizes to understand where he is and it reminds him of calculations because there are always calculations on maps and he loves math and he loves calculating.

13 Symbol (Math) Math numbers: Math numbers symbolizes he’s knowledge and the way to calm him down into situational problems like when there was too much people in the metro he calculated in he’s head a closed he’s eyes for him to settle and adapted to the setting. It also symbolizes the way he see’s and understand things while using that method to facilitate he’s understandings towards a situation. Math numbers symbolizes the methods and he’s ways to simplify he’s life and to make things easier for him to understand for him to find a way to get out of a problem. The math numbers also helps him develop he’s knowledge and understandings towards a situation and he hobby’s because he loves math and it helps him think when he’s scared or feared of someone or something.

14 Symbol (Dog) Dogs: Dogs symbolizes for him is that they are promising and they never lie and that’s why Christopher felt sad about Bennington (the dog). The dog also means to Christopher the love and care for dogs because they were loyal and truthful to their owner. The dog means in the book he’s love for animals and his knowledge about them like Toby and Orangutans that he spoke about in the book.

15 Genre. Bildungsroman: This genre means that the story is mainly focused on the main character’s psychological and moral parts. In the curious incident of the dog in the night-time, Christopher is mostly anxious. He doesn’t seem comfortable meeting new people and he doesn’t like things changing place. He likes to keep everything the way it is. Murder Mystery: This genre means that among the main characters, one of them is the murder. In the novel, the curious incident of the dog in the night-time, Christopher is trying to find out who killed Mrs. Shears’ dog. In the end, we find out that Christopher's’ dad killed the dog, since he saw that Mrs. Shears was giving more attention to the dog, rather than him. Quest Narrative: This genre means that the main character will have to go do a lot of things before he can find his answer. In the book, Christopher goes around the neighborhood to ask people who killed the dog. He later finds out that his father murdered the dog.
