Please also overlay a gradient on the photo to ensure the text is readable. The correct gradient shape can be found off-slide to the right. After placing the gradient (with grouped logo) over your image, select the overlay and your image, go to Home > Arrange > Send to Back so that your text will appear over the image and gradient. 4 Using the customizable section divider
Create a new slide with the “Section title layout – photo” layout. As per the instructions at the top of the photo, click on the image icon to insert a new photo. Navigate to the new photo file you’d like to use and click “Insert.” If necessary, use the crop tool to make the desired part of the image show in the picture placeholder (select the image, go to Picture Tools > Crop).

5 Preferred text location

As long as you stick with these layouts, text will populate correctly in the designated area. However, when creating slides with the “Title only, no logo” or “Blank” master layout, be sure not to encroach on the title header. Try this: Place your cursor in any row of text to the left that says “Size 20pt for subtopics.” Next click the Home tab, and then on the “Decrease List level” tool. Notice how the line moves up one level. Now try placing your cursor in one of the “Main topic…” lines. of text. Click the “Increase List Level” tool and see how the text is pushed in one level. The contact sheets are meant to be a preview only and should not be used to capture an image for a project. Please go to the AEM DAM and download the photo you’ve selected. Toolbar should look like this and found below the ribbon. It will default to above the ribbon. 16 Easily crop images in various ratios
9/18/ :07 PM Easily crop images in various ratios To crop images to different ratios: Insert your image. Select the image. Go to the “Picture tools” ribbon. Near the far right of the ribbon you will see a “Crop” button. Click on the drop down carrot. Move your cursor down and hover over “Aspect ratio.” You will see a full selection of aspect ratios. The most commonly used by designers are 1x1, 4x3, and 16x9. The two latter will allow you to easily crop a full bleed image for either a 4x3 or 16x9 presentation. Note: You will see a portrait and landscape section in the drop down. Most presentations are created in landscape, so keep that in mind. 18 9/18/ :07 PM The selection pane PowerPoint has a selection pane we can utilize to select objects in multi-layered slides. When building multi-layered slides be sure to name your layers for efficiency. To find the selection pane, navigate to the ribbon at the top of the program. Select the “Home” tab. To the far right you will see the “Select” dropdown menu. Click that and choose “Selection pane.” A menu will pop up to the right in the same general location as the format shape menu appears. This is your selection pane. This is the selection pane from the previous slide. You can easily select countries and recolor them to customize your map slide for your presentation. © 2016 Optum, Inc.
