University of La Verne “Summer Technology Camp” for Students August 16 (5-8pm) & 17 (8am-5pm), 2012 Learn about technology in education, and acquire skills and tools for success through hands-on learning! Completely free to participants! We will provide meals Open to virtually any adult interested in teaching as a profession Includes a subscription to an extensive set of electronic resources About The Grant The University of La Verne, in cooperation with Citrus College, secured a Title V grant, called “Preparing Tomorrow's Teachers Today Through Technology” (PT5), the goal of which is to improve program completion and graduation rates of future teachers, by improving the Education Career Pathway for students, establishing a Scholastic Technology Literacy Summer Camp for students, creating an Instructional Technology Academy for faculty in course cohorts, and transforming the culture of teaching and learning through collaborative faculty technology learning teams. About The Camp This summer technology camp is designed to improve program completion and graduation rates of future teachers. Any adult interested in the teaching profession is invited to attend, free of charge. A special invitation is extended to all students from the College of Education and Organizational Leadership, and all students from Citrus College. (Faculty may also attend, as learners.) The contents of this flyer, the University of La Verne College of Education, and the Technology Summer Camp event have been developed under a grant from the U.S. Department of Education. The contents do not necessarily represent the policies of the U.S. Department of Education, or constitute endorsement by the Federal Government.
