Whale's Fluke. A whale's fluke punctuates the solitude of Arthur Harbor near Palmer Station. Located on the southwestern coast of Anvers Island off the Antarctic Peninsula, Palmer Station is superbly located for biological studies of birds, sea life, and other components of the marine ecosystem. Devils Tower. Devils Tower National Monument is located in northeastern Wyoming. The Tower, which rises 1267 feet, and the surrounding 1347 acres were designated as our nation's first national monument by President Teddy Roosevelt in It is a favorite destination for climbers, hikers, and families.
