Session 1- Criterion A Objective:
Students will be able to review expectations for the Community Project Turn and talk. Student/ Coach Contract. Decide on Format for Process Journal. Students Join Google Classroom. Set Ongoing Meeting Date. Complete first entry of Process Journal. HW: Brainstorm Ideas for CP Topic. Session 1

Cite at least one source in Noodletools. Criterion A: Investigating November 13- January 12
In the community project, students should be able to: define a goal to address a need within a community, based on personal interests. A basic goal will simply state or outline what you are going to do or make. A challenging goal has what you are going to do or make and for what purpose – why you are going to do it? A highly challenging goal has multiple parts to it and leads to greater learning. Refer staff members to the documents and the exemplar. Session 2

Using High Quality Resources
Look at the Online Resources tab on the Media Center web site. YELLOW boxes are for newspaper and magazine articles. GREEN is science, BLUE is for general resouces, like encylopedias. Session 2

Consult the CP Criterion A Rubric to create a Guiding Question. Write draft of Guiding Question based on brainstorm and research. Assess how strong your Guiding Question is based on CP Criterion A Rubric. Review Global Contexts and select the most appropriate for their CP. Continue to research community need and add sources to Noodletools (if time permits) Update Process Journal and reflect on work so far. HW: Continue to research your topic and refine guiding question as needed. Add at least 2 more sources to Noodletools. Objectives: Students will be able to draft a Guiding Question and identify the Global Context Session 3

SUBMIT CP Presentation Objectives Students will be able to finalize their CP Noodletool bibliographies; complete their Academic Honesty Form; work on CP Presentations and practice presenting; submit 2-3 extracts of Criterion D
