There are several different types of funnels but this a common one.
Funnels can be used to cleanly transfer liquid into containers with a small opening or filter paper can put in the funnel to filter solids from a liquid.

Used for holding small amounts of liquids and solids

The striker has an advantage that it's longer than a match (avoid burning your fingers), and produces sparks, as opposed to an open flame, to light the burner.
