2 What is a Conjunction? A word used to join words or groups of words
Jen and Brant have arrived. They worked until the sun went down. I don’t know whether I want eggs or oatmeal.

3 Common Conjunctions F for A and N nor B but O or Y yet S so
FANBOYS OTHER F for A and N nor B but O or Y yet S so although as because however if since than that though unless until when whereas whether while

4 Paired Conjunctions both . . . . . and either . . . . . or
neither nor not only but also whether or Examples: I want both steak and shrimp for dinner. Neither Heather nor Sandra finished the assignment. She was not only tired, but also angry.

5 Find Conjunctions We will visit both the Johnson Space Center and Astroworld in Houston, Texas. Alaska and Hawaii were the last two states admitted to the Union. Those two students are twin sisters, yet they do not dress alike. Sally cannot go to the party unless she takes out the garbage. Either turn that radio down, or take it into your room while I’m studying. These nails aren’t long enough, so I’m going to buy some others.

8 Combining Sentences Stephen plays soccer. Stephen plays basketball.
Donald loves to travel. Donald often forgets his suitcase. Sharon enjoys cooking. Sharon goes shopping often. The dog loves to go on walks. The dog does not walk fast. David is good at baseball. David does not like to play baseball.

9 Examples interjections
A single word or short series of words that shows a burst of emotion They are kind of like emoticons: The cookie was overcooked.  The cookie was overcooked. Yuck! They can be more than one word. She finished first in the competition. Way to go! Examples bazinga hooray uh-oh blech huh whoa duh oh wow eww oops yikes ha ouch yuck hello ugh yum
