1 A Journey Through The Psalms
Wisdom From God A Journey Through The Psalms

2 Psalm 33 – Sing For Joy We will take this psalm very literally
We will be singing songs of joy and praise to God as we examine the contents of this psalm. We will NOT be playing instruments – as per New Testament commandments to sing and make melody in our hearts. Why sing for joy? Many reasons!

3 Sing Because God’s Word Is Upright
Speaks of the truthfulness and faithfulness of God. Psalm 33:1 – “Sing for joy in the Lord, O you righteous ones; Praise is becoming to the upright. We sing praise to God because it is BECOMING.

4 Psalm 33:4-5 “For the word of the Lord is upright, and all His work is done in faithfulness. He loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of the lovingkindness of the Lord.” His work is done in faithfulness He loves righteousness and justice He fills the earth with lovingkindness.

26 Sing Because God Is Awesome
Verses 6-8 – “By the word of the Lord the heavens were made, and by the breath of His mouth all their host. He gathers the waters of the sea together as a heap; He lays up the deep in storehouses. 27 He Is The Sustainer God Verse 9 – “For He spoke and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast.” God is the one who makes things “stand fast”. He continues to uphold this universe with His mighty hand. Hebrews 1:3 – “…and upholds all things by the word of His power….”

28 He Is The Counselor God Verses – “The Lord nullifies the counsel of the nations; He frustrates the plans of the peoples. The counsel of the Lord stands forever, the plans of His heart from generation to generation.
