People of the Renaissance wanted to be known as supporters of all aspects of the arts: Paintings, Sculptures, Poetry, and other Literature A Renaissance Man was someone who was well educated and excelled in many fields of study in the Arts A Universal Man A Renaissance Woman should be educated but wasn’t expected to create anything

What is humanism? A philosophy that developed during the Renaissance that focused more on the potential of man and less on the doctrine of the Catholic Church (like the beliefs of the Middle Ages)
