7 Key terms (copy them into your books)
International trade is the movement of goods and services across borders and therefore between countries. Foreign direct investment (FDI) is when a company invests (spends its money) in a different company by either building facilities (e.g. factories) or buying other companies. Challenge: Can you think of any examples of FDI or international trade? LO: To examine changes in international trade and FDI. To explore reasons for these changes.

Nike has built a new factory in Indonesia. An American company has taken a majority stake in a company in China Payday lender Wonga has continued its global expansion with the purchase of German payment firm BillPay. Vans shoes are made in Vietnam and sold in S.Africa, UK, USA and Australia. Countries in the EU have open market flows between their countries LO: To examine changes in international trade and FDI.
