Summer Opportunities and Fun!

2 SO MANY OPTIONS! Regular SUMMER SCHOOL – Don’t get stuck going to it. ☹ Pass your classes SUMMER INSTITUTE Enrichment… could be cool ☺ Robotics, ACT prep, etc… Pre-College Programs – Spend time on a college campus (sometimes costs $ scholarships often available. May earn college credit, may not.) Volunteering – Giving time and effort to a cause that matters to you. Interning – Opportunity to try a career and build your network (sometimes paid, sometimes unpaid) Working – Earning money at a job. Dual Credit Classes – Take classes at DCCCD for college credit. Career Exploration and Networking– Camps/Workshops that offer opportunity to learn about different careers and meet new people (i.e. Future Focus) Summer Camps/Athletic Camps – Opportunity to practice something you like (some cost money, some don’t)

Pre-College Programs Reach out to your top-choice schools to see if they have a summer program and if their summer program offers scholarships. Some programs cost money: some programs offer scholarships to offset the costs. Some offer credit or scholarships upon completion of the program.
