Adenine-Uracil Cytosine -Guanine
Transcription- Copying DNA instructions for proteins into mRNA Base Pairs- (No T’s) Adenine-Uracil Cytosine -Guanine mRNA- Carries the code for an amino acid, every three bases is called a codon Location- occurs in the nucleus Final Product- mRNA DNA Replication- When DNA makes a copy of itself in order to be passed along to a new cell during cell division. Base Pairs- Adenine -Thymine Cytosine -Guanine Location- occurs in the nucleus Final Product- 2 DNA double helices. Translation- the reading of mRNA by tRNA (at the ribosome) to make proteins Start codon –3 mRNA bases, AUG rRNA- help make up the ribosome's that carry out translation. tRNA- carries an amino acid and transfers it to the protein chain being made; every 3 bases is called the anticodon and it pairs with the mRNA codon Location- cytoplasm Final Product- Protein
