4 Outreach: Ongoing Coordination with RCMA Committees & Task Forces
Marketing and promotion of reflective coatings Response to inaccurate cool roofing articles Creation of videos, info-graphics, or other pieces Energy efficient messaging on Capitol Hill Codes and standards position development Technical / research data gaps and studies Collateral pieces for member use / distribution at industry events Industry magazine articles Technical bulletins & white papers

5 Any Input on the draft White Paper?
RCMA End User Outreach Current Activity: Development of the RCMA White Paper: “Reflective Roof Coatings and Peak Energy Demand” Developed in collaboration with Jim Hoff, TEGNOS Research Inc. Includes overview of base use versus peak demand of electricity Discusses role of cool roofing in promoting energy savings Highlights the properties of reflective roof coatings Provides information on how to calculate peak demand savings Any Input on the draft White Paper?

6 RCMA Reflective Roof Rebates Database
Includes a comprehensive list of rebates, loans, grants, and tax credits relating to reflective roof coatings applied to low slope and steep slope roofs Database covers all of the US, including state, local, and utility company rebate programs Updates were made to increase scope and frequency of updates on available rebates Available on public pages of RCMA website.

8 RRCI Outreach

9 RRCI Outreach RCMA staff recently attended and provided technical input at the U.S. DOE Building Technologies Windows and Envelope Roadmap Workshop Input was sought from industry on research and technologies to improve energy savings and building performance R&D activities discussed included adding focus to non-energy benefits associated with building retrofits, improved quality control among installers, material and component research, and improved diagnostic tools for evaluating building performance. Some focus on cool roofing, though limited. Research shifting toward role in mitigating the Urban Heat Island Effect.
