3 Three Wishes: What I Learned
You want a billion dollars A lot of you wished for things you can just have…like candy. So many of you want a dog. A lot of you want powers of some sort Tiahna and I are kindred spirits.

4 Vocabulary Exam #1 Each term, you will have TWO vocabulary exams. This is similar to previous years, I believe (except last year for some reason). Each vocabulary exam will cover TWO units. Exam #1: Units 1 & 2 [Next Tuesday] Exam #2: Units 3 & 4 End of Term Exam: Units 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, & 6

7 The Vocab Exam Memorizing definitions, synonyms, and antonyms requires rote memorization and is based on repetition. This is something you can do on your own time. However, your vocabulary exam will ask you to write your OWN sentences from a selection of words listed. Your vocabulary exam will also ask you to COMPLETE the sentence using a selection of words listed.

18 Nouns Vs Verbs Make sure you aren’t using a verb as a noun or vice versa. Ask yourself if the word is the subject or if it is the action. Good: Because we couldn’t agree, we were deadlocked in an absurd debate over which is better: Velveeta cheese or Kraft Mac and Cheese. Bad: After thirty-minutes of arguing we remained in a deadlocked.

20 Adjectives: Why Are They so Difficult?
Adjectives cause the MOST confusion for students when it comes to creating their own sentences. A lot of times, the best thing you can do is read. This helps you understand how each word is commonly used. Nouns: Person, place, thing, idea When you use an adjective, you have to be careful about WHAT it is you are describing. Some adjectives won’t work for all nouns.

21 Sentence Challenge Write three sentences.
Each sentence must include DIFFERENT nouns, verbs, and adjectives listed from Unit 1. These can be as creative as you would like.
