2 Growing Places… Almonds are California’s number one tree nut crop.
During the crop year, approximately six thousand growers located throughout the Central Valley of California produced billion pounds of almonds on 680,000 bearing acres. crop year is estimated to be 710,000 bearing acres. There are approximately 100 Almond Handlers in California.

12 Top 10 Export Destinations Million Pounds
The top three export markets for almonds are Spain, Germany and Japan, while Canada ranks eighth. What is interesting to note is that Spain, the #1 market, is actually the world’s second largest producer of almonds. Only about half of the almonds sent to Spain are consumed there.
