A reinforced earth retaining wall is to be 8 m high
A reinforced earth retaining wall is to be 8 m high. The properties of the backfill material are g = 16.6 kN/m3 and f = 30o. Galvanized steel ties are to be used for the construction of the wall. Design the Reinforcements with FS(B) = 3, FS(p) = 3, fy = 2.4x105 kN/m2 and f= 20o. The properties of the in situ soil below the retaining wall are g = 18 kN/m3, f = 30o, and c = 52 kN/m2.
