STEMCenter for Teaching & Learning™ Engineering byDesign™
12/01/2009 Engaging in Meaningful Partnerships “After mutual respect and understanding are achieved, it is possible to establish real, sincere relationships, which is the foundation of a solid long-term collaboration.” - Ron Garan DO WE TEACH engineering or ENGINEERING? This is an important concept for the participants to understand. Engineering byDesign™ is clearly about the little “e” – used as a verb “use engineering concepts”. The VERY IMPORTANT concept on this slide is that EbD™ or engineering with a little “e” is for ALL students Engineering is for a limited audience (not everyone in the world is an Engineer) If we do the little “e” (EbD™) correctly, then it is true that we will be preparing students for the BIG “E”. © International Technology Education Assoc
