Portsmouth Contractors
Fluor-B&W Portsmouth (FBP) Joint venture between Fluor and Babcock & Wilcox Responsible for the decontamination and decommissioning of the Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant in Piketon, Ohio. The Fluor-BWXT Portsmouth LLC. has also had its contract extended another 30 months as lead contractor for the cleanup at the former Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant. 9/19/2018

Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant
Fluor-BWXT contract Extension Includes completing deactivation of the massive X-326 uranium enrichment plant, Initiating deactivation work in the X-333 process building, Continuing the uranium barter program, Completing Onsite Waste Disposal Facility design and Moving construction forward to prepare the first cells to receive contaminated plant soils and demolition debris 9/19/2018

Analytical Services FY16 Accomplishments
FY16 – Sampling and analysis from January through August 2016 8494 samples shipped Sampling and analysis of 6,539 samples which Supported the Deferred Units RCRA Facility Investigation/Corrective Measures Study Work Plan which an off-site lab generated 293 contract compliant analytical data packages in support of one project. FY17 – Projected sampling and analysis 7000 samples 9/19/2018

Projects Property Transfer X-ray fluorescence analysis of soil samples for Uranium The objective of this sampling effort is to utilize real-time field measurement methodologies such as X-ray fluorescence (XRF) instrumentation (calibrated for uranium), to confirm no unacceptable contamination is present in the area. 9/19/2018
9
X-ray fluorescence (XRF)
Ex-Situ Soil Analysis for Uranium in Soils Test bagged or prepared soil samples to gain a more homogenized, representative sample from the collection site. Sample preparation tools were used for true lab-grade analytical data Handheld XRF elemental soil analysis for environmental screening was fast and determined to be reliable 9/19/2018
10
X-ray fluorescence (XRF)
Eleven (11) samples were submitted to Pajarito Scientific Corporation (PSC) for X-ray Fluorescence analysis by method SW846_6200 modified. Two samples were identified as a laboratory duplicates. Two samples were identified as field duplicates. The support documentation appears to address all relevant analytical notes regarding sample testing, including any QC (calibration verification standards), demonstration of capabilities, Performance testing samples, and MAPEP (low standard verification (20.0 ppm)) and issues associated with this data deliverable. The samples were analyzed on an "as received" basis. 9/19/2018
11
XRF for Uranium The initial calibration (ICAL) and continuing calibration verification checks were acceptable for all samples associated. The data were within acceptable limits for reporting data with a reporting limit greater than 20 ppms requested by the client. Results [Average values] when reported less than 10 ppm maybe considered estimated, the lower limit of detection was defined by the manufacture as 10ppm. MAPEP (low standard verification (20.0 ppm) was used to determine the instruments reporting limits 9/19/2018
12
MAPEP SUPPORT The Use of DOE Mixed Analyte Performance Evaluation Program in providing performance testing samples for XRF instrument performance verification Three sample were provide a from MAPEP at various levels Results were submitted to MAPEP for scoring All results meet MAPEP criteria of passing 9/19/2018

Suggestions Planning Send the audit notification letters to Team members and the audited facilities to aid the auditor in justifying there travel requests. Consider planning seasonally Fort Collins in the Winter – not a good idea 9/19/2018
31
Cost Savings To reduce the cost of Airfares
Do not plan audits leading in to a holiday or proceeding a holiday Examples: Presidents Day Easter /Good Friday Mothers Day Memorial Day Columbus day As reviewing airline pricing it has been noted that airline fee increase due to family travel times. These high volumes time also increase DOECAP hotel availability 9/19/2018
