1. MiniBSL -- 3-yr project -- NASA-ASTEP • Lake Vida, Dry Valleys, Antarctica -- collaborate with Doran et al., who will drill thru a 13 m ice cover on this hypersaline lake with microbial mats. In Nov we will log the ice and lake. • Next, ask NSF for support to log borehole in deep mine in South Africa for anaerobic hyperthermophiles • Propose instrument on a future Mars mission
