Present day politics The us like to think of itself as more powerful and economically better than other countries. The united states often gets into conflicts that happen in other countries. Before George Washington resigned in his farewell address he stated that. The us should not get involved in foreign entanglements. Also do not let political parties take too much power in our government. Now we are in billions of dollars in debt. The us has to payback other countries.

Racial profiling 9/11 is another example of ethnocentrism
After 9/11 the us started racial profiling against middle eastern people. Anyone that wore the turbans or head wraps were looked at differently. Even today 13 yrs. after the 9/11, us citizens still do racial profiling. Muslims were mostly effected because of the culture and the way that they dress.

Nazi Germany Adolf Hitler leader of the Nazi soldiers decide that he wanted to kill of the Jews, homosexuals and some other groups of people. Hitler was a very prejudice man. Prejudice is an preconceived opinion that is not based on reason or actual experience. the mass slaughter of the Jews was a cruel act of ethnocentrism. Ethnocentrism caused the elimination of million of innocent people.

The story is about an guy named Antonio, he needs a loan. so he goes to a Jewish moneylender. Antonio felt like it wasn’t right for a Christian to be charge by an Jew. Shylock believes that it should not matter weather he is Jewish or Christian we are all human. Ethnocentrism is a powerful force that weakens human relations.(Ethnocentrism in History)
