1 Audio Recording Tips for Brainshark

2 Leading Practices and Guidelines
Make sure you’re in a quiet place and there’s no echo while you speak. Reduce other background noise – paper shuffling, doors closing, dogs barking, etc.! Test your recording quality on one slide before continuing to record the rest The microphone/laptop recording option tends to provide better quality than the telephone (a good headset is recommended rather than your built-in mic) – you can feel free to test and select the option best for you Avoid verbal distractors – um, ah, so….. Be prepared but balance with being conversational and engaging - try not to ‘read from a script’ You can include your speaking points in the PPT notes pages (they will display in Brainshark) or keep separate (but remember not to shuffle the paper) Please thank the previous speaker (if there is one) before you start recording your first slide For example, “Thank you Megan, I am Michelle Donahue and my role is XYZ ...” Callout/briefly introduce the next speaker after you conclude your part (as appropriate) If you’re concluding a module, please call that out to the learners For example, “This concludes my module and now Michelle Donahue will cover the topic XYZ ….” If you’re opening a module, please use a divider slide to introduce the module
