We Need a Hero...
2
Claim In an increasingly uncertain world, we all need heroes to look up to and to rely on. Heroic qualities come down to a willingness to put aside personal well being for the well being of others, which takes a mountain of courage.

Reason #1: Heroes are willing to leave people they love
Reason #1: Heroes are willing to leave people they love...when the call comes Evidence Siddhartha felt compelled to figure out the meaning of suffering in a person’s life. He followed this strong desire even though he knew that in order to answer his questions, he would need to leave the ones he loved (his wife and son) and his beautiful and wonderful life in the palace where there would never be suffering for him.

Reason #2 Heroes are relentless in their battles. They do not give up, even when it looks like they might not win. Rama was facing Ravana who kept growing heads and arms, slinging weapons at him nonstop. Rama was able to remain calm, even at the most dangerous moment seeking wisdom through meditation, and was finally able to slay Ravana, but also to grant Ravana Enlightenment by seeing through what he put out there and to see into who he truly was under the surface - a being capable to goodness. Malala's Webpage - Evidence
Here you have a list of items t, but won’t do both. Molala was blogging about the Taliban when they banned girls from attending school. She continued to attend school, despite threats and warnings from the Taliban and was ultimately shot in the face on her way home from school one day. All across our country, people speak out about injustice and risk alienation and physical violence. Even at school, it takes a degree of putting others before your own self interest to stand up to bullying and harassment. 83% of girls and 79% of boys report being bullied in school, and 40% of boys who are identified as bullies continue the trend of abuse and violence through age 30. So when people stand up and are willing to endure repercussions, not only might they help the victim, they may have a larger impact on bettering the community.

Heroes run in when others run out
Evidence Reason #3 Heroes run in when others run out Beowulf was willing to fight the Dragon despite the fact that he knew he would not survive. None of his warriors was willing to go into the battle, except Wiglaf. So in situations where death/defeat is certain, a hero will go anyway.

“9/11 death toll rises as cancer cases soar among emergency workers
“9/11 death toll rises as cancer cases soar among emergency workers...More than 2,500 New York police, firefighters, ambulance and sanitation workers now have the disease” Telegraph Article Evidence On 9/11 more than 300 first responders died running into buildings that were sure to collapse. And while people were running away from the burning buildings, first responders were willing to run in. Today, more than 2500 first responders are dealing with cancers related to what they breathed in. All across our country we have had mass shootings and terror attacks, where people run to escape the horrible violence and to save their lives. But there is always a story of a few who will stay behind, risking their own lives to save many. At my own high school in Troutdale, Oregon, a student came to school ready to enact a mass shooting, but my daughter’s PE teacher ran toward the student, got shot, but locked him in the locker room, saving many from getting shot themselves.
