Physical Education Class Rules:
Respect Teachers – do not talk when the teacher is talking, listen attentively Classmates – keep your hands and feet to yourself, use kind words Equipment – do not touch unless given permission to do so, treat appropriately Self – expect good things from yourself, strong effort & willingness to try new activities

Preparation – have your phys-ed clothing (t-shirt, shorts & sneakers) Listening Skills – Body and mouth silent Effort – try your best at each activity Attitude – keep positive Conduct – find the right time & place to make comments or share thoughts. Treat other people the way that you would like to be treated.

Grading A student’s grade is based on the following:
1. Participation (60%) – Social skills, attitude and behavior towards peers, teachers and activities, work habits, being prepared for class as well as participation in class and effort in class activities. (Preparation includes a change of clothes; shirt, shorts, and sneakers.)

Daily Grade Description
5 Student ALWAYS listens, follows directions & tries their best. Student is kind to others & ALWAYS cooperates. Student has a POSITIVE attitude & plays safely. Student is ALWAYS in control of their voice, body, & behavior. 4 MOST of the time, the student listens & follows directions. They TRY to be kind to others & cooperate, MOST TIMES. MOST of the time, the student is in control of their voice, body, & behavior. 3 OFTENTIMES, the student needs to be reminded to listen & follow directions. SOMETIMES it is hard for the student to cooperate with others & play safely. The student has to be REMINDED to control their voice, body, & behavior. 2 The student RARELY follows directions. It is HARD for the student to cooperate & be kind to others. The student has a POOR attitude & rarely plays safely. The student ALMOST NEVER has control of their voice, body, & behavior. The student is UNPREPARED and BORROWS (3 borrows per semester) PE clothes or FULLY COMPLETES an unprepared assignment. 1 The student is UNPREPARED and participates without borrowing or completes only a PORTION of the unprepared assignment. Student had to be given a TIME-OUT. UNPREPARED for class, DID NOT participate and DID NOT complete any of the unprepared assignment. Grading (con’t) Quizzes / Tests (20%) – Performance on written quizzes and tests. Skills Assessment (20%) – Student performance on skills assessments, including the Fitnessgram pre-test and post test.
