Every Halliburton employee has the authority and responsibility to stop work, without fear of retaliation, if he/she perceives an unsafe act or condition at work.
Stop Work Authority is an essential tool in the Halliburton culture of safety, and every manager – up to and including our CEO – is prepared to back an employee who prevents an incident by using it.
Halliburton employees at every level should empower the people around them … encourage them to watch for unsafe conditions or processes, and use Stop Work Authority when necessary.
