5 Scholars and Merit Diploma Options
See your counselor is you are interested in either diploma option Must EOC test no later than the Winter – Cannot sit for Spring EOC’s Scholars Diploma Meet required graduation requirements Earn 1.0 credit in Algebra 2 Earn 1.0 credit in Statistics or an equally rigorous course Pass the Biology EOC or pass AP Biology exam Earn 1.0 credit in Chemistry or Physics Earn 1.0 credit in a course equally rigorous to Chemistry or Physics Pass the US History EOC or AP US History exam Earn 2 credits in the same World Language Earn at least 1.0 credit in an AP or DE course Merit Diploma Meet required graduation requirements Attain one or more industry certifications

6 Requesting a Transcript
Transcript request form is located in guidance at Mrs. Ortiz’s desk Transcripts can be sent electronically to majority of school nationwide through Parchment – create an account and request transcripts to be sent directly through your account All other schools that do not use Parchment – transcripts will cost $2.00 per transcript Dual Enrollment Transcripts – Must request directly from SJRSC AP Credits – Must request directly from the College Board

7 Is My Transcript Correct…..
Seniors should request an unofficial copy of their transcript for review through correct spelling of name social security number all credits are entered from virtual school and St. Johns River State College courses have been grade forgiven Correct number of service hours SAT/ACT scores have been entered correctly Online course credit has been entered

Re-taking the ACT and/or SAT exam or Check eligibility for Bright Futures on Finalizing your applications Send out transcripts Request letters of recommendations Seek out scholarships – individual scholarships and from the colleges Notify colleges that you will not attend Meet deadlines housing, tuition, etc.

12 General Eligibility Requirements for Bright Futures
Be a Florida resident and U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen as determined by you postsecondary institution Enroll in an eligible Florida public or private postsecondary institution Enroll in a minimum of 6 hours per term (or the equivalent) Begin using the scholarship funds within two years of graduation Must not be found guilty of, or plead no contest to, a felony charge Must apply during your last year in high school – Application opens October 1st, and closes on graduation date 12

3.0 or higher weighted GPA in non-elective high school courses 3 full credits in a single Career and Technical Education Program and earn a 3.5 or higher unweighted GPA in these courses 30 hours of community service Achieve qualifying test score requirements: ACT – English: 17, Reading: 19 and Math: 19 SAT – Critical Reading: 440 and Math: 440 PERT – Reading: 106, Writing: 103 and Math: 114 Gold Seal Scholarship funds can only be used at one of the following programs: Pays $39.00 at a Career Certification Program (PSAV) Pays $39.00 at an Applied Technology Diploma Program (ATD) Pays $48.00 at a Technical Degree Education Program – AS, AAS or CCC
