Failed Courses Make up with Teacher - $40 (quarter following when F was issued.) After School make up at SEA - $40 Electronic High School - Free BYU Independent Study - $$$ All make up credit for graduation must be completed by April 15th. YOU are responsible for verifying the grade change on your transcript.

Diplomas Cedar High Diploma Iron County Diploma
Cedar High Requirements 28 Credits Participate in the Cedar High graduation ceremony. Iron County Diploma Fulfill state requirements 24 Credits, Student cannot participate in Cedar High graduation ceremony, but may participate in the ceremony at the alternative high school, SEA.

Graduation Recognition
Diploma Of Merit - awarded to students who have pursued a more in-depth program of study. Applications are due in February. Academic Medallion - a 3.8 cumulative GPA each year during high school will automatically qualify CTE Pathway Completer - More in depth program of study in the CTE programs. It will be awarded if requirements are completed.

Taking rigorous classes, building your resume, improving your talent, and improving your test scores and GPA are all essential components.

Cedar High ACT Test Every junior will take the ACT on March 1st at CHS. There will be no charge for this testing date.

If you are thinking about participating in athletics in college, you need to register with the NCAA at NCAA requires more academic classes than are required for graduation.

Utah Scholars Initiative
The Utah Scholars Initiative is a high impact academic program intended to motivate students to complete a defined curriculum while in high school to better prepare them for college and future employment. We focus on helping students understand the academic preparation needed to succeed in postsecondary education and the workforce. Register at utahscholars.org 4 credits of English 4 years of progressive math 3.5 Social Science 3 credits of lab-based science( Biology, Chemistry, and Physics) 2 credits of progressive World language.

Regents Scholarship Base Award (maximum value $1000 one-time payment)
Regents Scholarship is awarded to students who take a more rigorous high school schedule. Students are required to take 4 credits of English, 4 years of progressive math, 3.5 Social Science, 3 credits of lab-based science(Biology, Chemistry, and Physics), and 2 credits of progressive World language. Student can receive two potential awards. Base Award (maximum value $1000 one-time payment) 3.0 high GPA No Grade below a “C” Take the ACT Exemplary Academic Achievement Award (flat dollar amount, maximum value $1250 per semester for up to four semesters) 3.5 GPA No Grade below a “B” 26 ACT

EVERY college and university has its own deadlines. Be sure to check the websites. There are many options to search for scholarships. Some include :Utahfutures.org, the CHS website counseling page, and Fastweb or meet with your counselor.

PSAT Test October 14 -Fee $15
Designed for Juniors but Sophomores can take to prepare for the next year. The PSAT/NMSQT assesses reading, math, and writing skills; provides excellent practice for the SAT; and connects students to scholarships and personalized online tools. There are limited number of tests ordered, so register early. This test is used to determine National Merit winners.

Job Corps Utah: Job Corps is a comprehensive technical training program for ages Students live on campus and have up to two years to complete their training. Funded by the US Department of Labor, Job Corps trains 62,000 students each year at 122 centers across the country.
