INDENTURED SERVANTS: Were people who agreed to work for FREE________ on a Plantation for a set number of years to pay for their passage and family to a colony. British indentured servants called themselves “ Redemptioners”_____________!

20 INDENTURED SERVANTS Other British Indentured Servants were actually convicted criminals who were sent to American Colonies to Pay their debt to society. Georgia was set up as a Penal or (Punishment) Colony by England Australia was set up as a Penal Colony by England as well.

21 Trading Post Colonies The FRENCH & DUTCH (Netherlands) set up TRADING POST Colonies in NORTH AMERICA. *Their Colonies were not BENIFICIAL (Good) for mining or farming. Their WEALTH was made through TRADE _______!
