How Writers Work Looks like:
Set aside specific time for writing each day. Decide if you need silence or a certain distraction is okay. Be open to ideas from anywhere. Look to your life for ideas. Read often and from varied sources. Let a piece sit before trying to revise. Don’t be afraid to throw out chunks of writing.

Writer’s Workshop Looks Like
Writers working independently. Writers collaborating with a peer or a small group. Writers revisiting mentor texts for ideas. Teachers and writers conferring. Writers working in their Writer’s Notebook or journal.

Writers Workshop Sounds Like
Writers actively listening to their peers & teacher. Writers sharing with their peers and teachers. Writers moving about the room quietly. Pencils scratching and pens gliding. Writers whispering to themselves. A quiet hush.
