8 Updates to MIL-STD-2003 Approval to proceed with development of MIL-STD-2003B Intermediate Review Final Review complete - October 2016 Released for Standards Review Board (SRB) complete - November 2016 Comment Period complete – March 2017 Adjudication of Comments complete - October 2017 Production of Final (Clean) Draft Revision for Review Part 5 complete – ready for final review Parts 2 and 3 – 90% complete – expected early April 2018 Parts 1 and 4 – in production – expected May 2018 Deliver for Review - May 2018 Publication of MIL-STD-2003B (anticipated) – Late 2018 DISTRIBUTION STATEMENT A. Approved for public release. Distribution is unlimited.

9 MIL-DTL-32483A MED VOLTAGE SWBRDs
Switchgear, Power, Hard-Mounted, Medium Voltage, Naval Shipboard In Review Revisions based on the expected trend for new construction programs to generate medium voltage (>1000 volts). Updated requirements for jam nuts, lock wahsers and other fasteners, maximum compartment temperature requirements, fusing, thermal imaging windows and other lessons-learned from 2014 meeting with switchboard technical community. DISTRIBUTION STATEMENT A. Approved for public release. Distribution is unlimited.

10 MIL-DTL-xx653 LOW VOLTAGE SWBRDs
Switchgear, Power, Shock-Mounted, Low Voltage, Naval Shipboard New - In Review Created to establish standard construction, testing, and safety requirements for shock-mounted low voltage switchgear that will result in consistent vendor pricing from program to program. Originally intended to use commercial specifications as a baseline and publish through a commercial governing body. Considered revising MIL-DTL-16036M to include requirements for shock-mounted low voltage switchgear. Concluded that commercial specs and 16063M were not readily adaptable for Navy shock-mounted requirements. DISTRIBUTION STATEMENT A. Approved for public release. Distribution is unlimited.

11 CABLE AND CABLEWAY INSPECTION
NAVSEAINST E “SHIPBOARD CABLE AND CABLEWAY INSPECTION AND REPORTING PROCEDURES” Issue expected early April Instruction describes the requirements for planning and performing shipboard cableway inspections and correcting identified cable and cableway hazards. It covers all cable types used in the fleet. NAVSEAINST E includes cable inspection criteria now includes CVNs (new) cable inspection criteria Cable Deficiencies Categories revised will no longer allow approval of a CAT 1 DFS adds guidance for dead-ended and future use cables adds modules on wiring techniques, terminators and a cableway print material guide to cable inspection training program The new instruction is now consistent with the Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual (JFMM) and current cableway inspection practices. DISTRIBUTION STATEMENT A. Approved for public release. Distribution is unlimited.
