“15 for 12” Membership Promotion October 1 through December 31, 2017
2
What is the “15 for 12” Membership Promotion?
Anyone joining BOMA between October 1 through December 31, 2017 receives the remainder of 2017 FREE with the payment of their 2018 dues.
3
Why Should a BOMA Local Association Conduct a “15 for 12” Membership Campaign?
It provides prospects with a financial incentive to join BOMA in Q4 and receive up to 15 months of membership benefits for the price of the annual dues. Note, the economy/cost of membership is one of the top external challenges to growing membership. Prospects may use current 2017 budget funds.
4
“15 for 12” Facts Your BOMA International dues invoice dated October 31 is the first invoice of the 2018 member year. Any new member added after October 1 is counted in the invoicing. Former members, including those that dropped in 2017, may take advantage of the “15 for 12” membership promotion. Both individual-based and building-based BOMA local associations may participate in the 15 for 12 promotion.

Non-Deductible Dues Statement: A Must for all Membership Invoices
You must place this sentence on your dues invoices: “As a result of the Revenue Reconciliation Act of 1993, [insert the final number of your calculation]% of your dues payment to BOMA is not deductible as an ordinary and necessary business expense.” If you do not have this on your invoice, the IRS can charge your local a “Proxy Tax,” meaning that your local would be responsible for paying the taxes on the non-deductible portion of your members’ dues.
