Report accidents or spills to teacher ASAP… Wear safety glasses… Wash off with water immediately if you spill on yourself… Clean equipment by rinsing three times… Smell chemicals by wafting fumes to nose… Label containers… Tie hair back if working with an open flame… Clean up at the end of lab…

Never eat, drink, or chew gum in the lab… Never mix unknown chemicals! Check labels… Never run or throw objects in the lab… Never touch chemicals with your bare hands... Never taste chemicals… Never return used chemicals to stock solutions… Never leave a hot plate unattended… Never heat a closed test tube… Never put chemicals in the sink without permission…
