Note: If you click on the “Coach resources for Official SAT Practice” you will be taken to a marvel app that you can click around. These won’t be as updated as the screenshots provided, but can also be helpful when looking at the resources. If you click on the screen, the additional parts you can click on will blink.
There are 36 Lesson plans available (16 Math, 16 Reading and Writing, and 4 Essay). If teachers want to see a full menu they are available under Tips and Strategies on Khan Academy. They will be available on the CB website starting August 8th. (sat.org k-12 educators  Advising and Instruction)
Main Coach resources use cases: a) that we are making sure that teachers have the info and resources they need to adjust their curriculum based on student performance, and b) to enable teachers to have productive conversations with their students around their practice and practice goals.
While these tools are designed to help inform classroom instruction, they can also be useful for counselors or other educators as they support students on the path to college.

2. Step 1: Under name, select “Coach Dashboard”
Note: In order to build your class, click on your name in the upper right side of the screen, and select “Coach
dashboard.”
If you don’t see “Coach Dashboard,” click on “Add students.” Once you have added students to your account, you will be able to see the Coach’s Dashboard.
You can set your homepage to be either Coach Dashboard or the Learning View, if you go into your settings.

3. Step 2: “Add new class”
Note: From there, click on “Add new class.” (The “Classes” category on the left hand side of the screen should be underlined).

4. Step 3: Enter Class name or import class from Google classroom
Note: Once you have decided to build a class, you are given the option to name it as well as determine which subject will serve as the focus for your students.
If you already have a class, you can import from Google Classroom

5. Step 4: Add SAT under Test Prep (you can have SAT in addition to other subjects)
Note: If you would like to create a new class specifically for SAT prep, you must go through the same motions of creating and naming a class, however, rather than choosing a primary subject off the list, scroll down and select SAT. From there, you can add students to your class or skip and finish class creation.
You can also add other subjects (algebra, physics, etc.) or make this a primary SAT class

6. Step 5: Add Students by using code, importing from Google Classroom, or sending an email invitation
Note: Teachers cannot share classes with each other; however, multiple teachers can add the same student to their class.

7. Step 6: Click on class under Coach Dashboard and SAT tab to view student progress
Note: Top Math and Top Reading & Writing Classroom Lessons provide teachers with an aggregated view of the most relevant SAT skills to work on with students.
Skills: In Official SAT Practice, skills refer to specific areas that you can practice. For example, “Solving linear equations and linear inequalities” is one of the skills in the math section, and “Reading: Science” or “Writing: Argument” are skills in the Reading & Writing section. These skills are the units that Official SAT Practice will recommend for your practice. There are 42 skills for math and 28 skills for Reading and Writing
Skill Levels: You have a specific skill level for each of the many skills you will practice for the SAT.
When you reach a higher level in a skill, you will be asked harder questions or given more complex passages when you practice that skill.

8. Add SAT to an existing class: Click on the class name and Settings
Note: You also have the option of adding SAT coach tools to an existing class. To do so, select the relevant class, navigate to that class’s “Settings” tab, and select “Turn on SAT test preparation reporting.” You should then be able to navigate to the newly created SAT tab in the class.
Once you click “Turn on SAT test preparation reporting” you do not need to save the settings, the SAT tab will appear between the Activity and Roster tab at the top.

9. You can also add SAT to a new high school class
Note: If you would like to add SAT coach tools to a new regular subject class (algebra, physics, etc.), you will go through the same steps to add a new class (steps 1-4). On step 4, you must first select the primary subject for your class. In this next step, you will be invited to add the SAT coach tools. Click on “Add SAT.”

10. Student permissions: Students you added to your class will receive the following message
Note: In addition to adding a student to your class, your student will need to accept the SAT coach data sharing agreement. When you add students to an SAT class, they will see the following image on their SAT dashboard prompting them to share SAT data with you.
In order to see student information, two things must happen. 1) You must be their coach. You can see all of the students that you’re coaching under the “Students” tab of the Coach Dashboard. If a student has not approved you to be his/her coach, they will be listed at the top under “Awaiting Approval.”
2) The student must give you permission to share their SAT Practice Activity with you.
If you are already coaching a student, students you invite to a class that has SAT reporting enabled, will automatically get this message the first time they log in to satpractice.org. If you add additional students in this class, Khan Academy will automatically send them an invitation to share their SAT data with you.
If students aren’t seeing this pop-up and they are navigating from khanacademy.org, have them go to “subjects” and then over to “test prep” and click on SAT.
If students aren’t seeing this pop-up and they are at satpractice.org, have them hit “Start Practicing.”
If you’re not already coaching a student, that student needs to accept you as a coach first and then they need to share SAT data with you.
If you added SAT reporting to an existing class, when you added SAT reporting, all of your students will receive the pop-up to share their SAT data with them
Students can grant access to multiple coaches. This may be a teacher, counselor, advisor, and/or parent.

11. Students Tab of the Coach Dashboard
In order to see student information, two things must happen. 1) You must be their coach. You can see all of the students that you’re coaching under the “Students” tab of the Coach Dashboard. If a student has not approved you to be his/her coach, they will be listed at the top under “Awaiting Approval.”

12. Coach Request Email to a Student
If a teacher chooses to add students via , this is a screenshot of what the looks like. They can accept a coach by clicking on the button, which will take them to KA. Or, when they log-in to KA, they will be prompted to accept the teacher as a coach, like it shows on the “Student Permissions” slide.

13. Coach’s Tab on Khan Academy to add classes/Coaches
This is the view of Coaches tab. This is where students can add a coach with a class code, or students have the ability to remove you as a coach.

Note: This is at the bottom of the class view under the top reading and writing classroom lessons.
This section includes, for each student:
The amount of time spent on Official SAT Practice
Students’ progress against their question goals for the week. This question goal is determined by the students’ practice schedule they created on their dashboard. Teachers will be able to see how many questions a students has completed that week, even if they haven’t created a practice schedule.  The goal will show up as a dash (-) in this case.
Whether or not they have any scheduled practice tests that week and whether they completed them. This is also determined from their practice schedule. The trophy will be blue if they completed the practice test and gray if they did not.
The number of days until their official SAT that they indicated in their practice schedule.
Whether or not the student has connected their CB account to KA for personalized recommendations based on past PSAT 8/9, 10, P/N or SAT exams.
Coaches can’t currently see the amount of time that students have spent. They can see how many problems a student has completed in a week and review the work done on these problems.
If a student has not approved data sharing, their name will appear in a list at the bottom of your coach dashboard. You can re-initiate a data-sharing request at any time.
