4. Many Colleges Offer Scholarship Packages to National Merit Finalists and Semifinalists
Sample scholarship packages from The University of Alabama (
National Merit Semifinalist Package - $41,800 over four years
Value of tuition for four years or eight semesters
National Merit Finalist Package – Approximately $78,000 over five years
Value of tuition for up to five years (can be used for graduate school)
One year of on-campus housing
A $3,500 per year stipend for four years
One-time allowance of $2,000 for summer research or international study
Technology Enrichment Allowance $1000
