4 College Admission Testing
Most colleges require students to take college admissions tests SAT- ACT- Both the ACT and the SAT are nationally administered standardized tests that help colleges evaluate candidates. *Most schools accept either test interchangeably. You can try a free practice test for the SAT and ACT through or free online prep for the new SAT will be provided through Khan Academy prep/new-sat *Some colleges require or suggest that students take SAT subject tests (SAT II). Check your college’s websites to see what they require.

5 When should I take the SAT/ACT?
Most juniors take the SAT/ACT in the Fall or Spring. This gives students a chance to get their scores back and retake the test if they want to try and achieve a higher score in June or in the fall. It is also recommended to take subject tests at the end of your junior year if your colleges require them. The course work is fresh in your mind at the end of the year.
