King Midas Alternative Ending
You will create a new ending to the story about King Midas and his Golden touch. Follow the directions below to complete the activity. Read the story “King Midas and the Golden Touch” which begins on page 683. Go to the URL: Log in with your credentials (first name, last initial for user ID and your personal password.) Create an alternative ending for the King after he meets Dionysus. Once all alternative endings are complete, analyze each to determine which of the endings you think is best based on our rubric. Mark the rubric with your decisions and be sure to make notations to support your choice. Participate in class discussion and then cast your vote for the best ending. Let your teacher know when all votes are placed so that she can publish the new story. This task uses: Common Core/NG Standard(s): 7.W.1a Introduce claim(s), acknowledge alternate or opposing claims, and organize the reasons and evidence logically. 7.W.1b Support claim(s) with logical reasoning and relevant evidence, using accurate, credible sources and demonstrating an understanding of the topic or text. 7.W.1c Use words, phrases, and clauses to create cohesion and clarify the relationships among claim(s), reasons, and evidence.
