2. 2 Chronicles 36:20-21
Those who had escaped from the sword he carried away to Babylon; and they were servants to him and to his sons until the rule of the kingdom of Persia, to fulfill the word of the Lord by the mouth of Jeremiah, until the land had enjoyed its sabbaths. All the days of its desolation it kept sabbath until seventy years were complete.
70 years for every sabbath year they missed
70 sabbath years X 7 = 490 years or rebellion

3. Jeremiah 29:10-14
“For thus says the Lord, ‘When seventy years have been completed for Babylon, I will visit you and fulfill My good word to you, to bring you back to this place. For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. I will be found by you,’ declares the Lord, ‘and I will restore your fortunes and will gather you from all the nations and from all the places where I have driven you,’ declares the Lord, ‘and I will bring you back to the place from where I sent you into exile.’

4. 2 Chronicles 7:12-15
Then the Lord appeared to Solomon at night and said to him, “I have heard your prayer and have chosen this place for Myself as a house of sacrifice. If I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or if I command the locust to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among My people, and My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to the prayer offered in this place.

5. Daniel 9:1-4
In the first year of Darius the son of Ahasuerus, of Median descent, who was made king over the kingdom of the Chaldeans— in the first year of his reign, I, Daniel, observed in the books the number of the years which was revealed as the word of the Lord to Jeremiah the prophet for the completion of the desolations of Jerusalem, namely, seventy years. So I gave my attention to the Lord God to seek Him by prayer and supplications, with fasting, sackcloth and ashes. I prayed to the Lord my God and confessed…
Daniel had a lot of influence in the government. but He didn’t choose to turn to politics he turned to the Lord in prayer!
Daniel confessed and repented on behalf of His people even though he more than likely didn’t receive the promised reward that he fought for! He was fighting for his countrymen and Te Lord’s inheritance not His own gain!

6. Daniel 10:11-13
[Gabriel] said to me, “O Daniel, man of high esteem, understand the words that I am about to tell you and stand upright, for I have now been sent to you.” And when he had spoken this word to me, I stood up trembling. Then he said to me, “Do not be afraid, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart on understanding this and on humbling yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to your words. But the prince of the kingdom of Persia was withstanding me for twenty-one days; then behold, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I had been left there with the kings of Persia.

7. God has forever connected government and intimacy
God has forever connected government and intimacy. Our dominion is forever linked with our dependency upon God through intimacy and asking. Governmental decisions are never outside the context of intimacy, love, and fascination. This is why God’s government is ruled through intercession. God loves to be asked, He loves to hear, and He loves to thrill us through the answers. God designs the creatures made in His image with the governmental delight of communing and asking Him for things. This is life—to forever lean upon our Bridegroom God and ask Him for decisions on the earth. Intercession is, at the base level, what it means to be human and made in the image of the living God. Government is never simply making decisions with a given set of facts. That approach is from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. Government should always be indelibly marked with leaning on Him, communing, and asking. Government is more than enforcing divine order. It is filled with intimacy, light, and love. It is the fascinated interplay of human asking and divine answering unto worship, wonder, and whispers of love.
