2 Order of Operation Step one: you must follow the operations in order from left to right. 285+93÷(3-2)×3×4²

3 PARENTHESES The Order from left to right is: Parentheses first
Example: ÷(3-2)×3x4² (3-2) 1

4 EXPONENTS Second you will clear all exponents. 285+93÷1x3x4² 4²=16

5 MULTIPLY or DIVIDE Third you will multiply or divide, which ever appears first in your number sentence. 285+93÷1x3x16 93÷1=93 285+93x3x16 93x3=279 x16= 279x16=4464 Now you have cleared all parentheses, all exponents, and multiplication and division.

6 ADD or SUBTRACT Last of all you must add or subtract, which ever appears first in you number sentence. Example: =4749

7 Order of operation If you followed the order of operations correctly your final answer should be, 4,749

8 Order of Operation Now you try one: 35÷7+5x3²
