in past experiments and data observed, physicians thought that thymuses of the prepubescent children were small, because the only thymuses they had seen were from the poverty stricken.
when in conditions of high stress (caused by poverty) the child's thymus shrinks.
a normal thymus is large and shrinks over time as a child goes through puberty
thymus is a gland in prepubescent children that produces T cells for your body (T cells are cells that help with immune responses)
poverty can also cause chronic stress,the loss of self esteem,depression and even ptsd
